Geometry information and approximation cost in recessed-aperture transport

Working revision 7 (27 October 2026) and its supporting computational evidence. This working paper examines total transmitted power through ideal straight parallelogram recesses with absorbing walls and spatially uniform angular illumination. Equal reduced-geometry records give analytic transmission-error floors for shear and aspect-ratio pairs. A saved 352-case matrix distinguishes information loss from numerical approximation error; a later equation-level adaptation of published clipped spherical-harmonic integration is assessed on reused evaluation cases with explicit unresolved outcomes. The practical output is a computational verification benchmark for planning a future physical aperture experiment. Revision 7 changes the AI/authorship disclosure, adds a contributions summary and a pre-declared versus post-hoc table, and adds no new numerical study. Existing scientific claims, numerical results, table values and figure values are unchanged. The author reviewed the equations and checked selected arguments, particularly equations (7)-(9); AI assistance and its extent are disclosed in the manuscript. Start with aperture_working_revision_7.pdf and RELEASE_README.txt. The unchanged aperture_v6_licensed_archive.zip contains the complete underlying code, saved results, configurations, protocols, source snapshots, verification logs and reproduction instructions. Its v6 filename identifies the preserved computational evidence that also supports v7. MANIFEST.json records the release-file hashes. Earlier private-review manuscripts, if present, are superseded by the v7 release files. Invited independent technical review and bench development proceed in parallel. The four technical questions remain open; comments can inform revision 8 or a subsequent revision. Publication of this working paper does not assert completed human peer review, journal submission, acceptance, external optical-engine validation or physical measurement. Empirical refinement allowances are not certified error enclosures. Later physical results require their own protocol, characterization, uncertainty analysis and dated evidence. License scope: original project code is MIT; manuscript, data, figures and documentation are CC BY 4.0, as specified in the release README and the archive license inventory. Third-party dependencies and cited publications retain their own terms. Cite this record's specific version DOI for fixed-version review; later scientific updates will be released as new versions or linked companion records, not silently substituted into this release. Abstract
