Stages of development of the oil industry on Sakhalin in the late 19th — first half of 20th Centuries
The article presents the author's view on the periodization of the key stages of the development of the oil industry of Sakhalin in the late XIX — first half of the XX century. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of historical sources and special literature, specific conditions were identified that determined the peculiarity of the process of formation of the industry: repeated changes in the state ownership of the territory of Sakhalin, the restriction of the state's ability to freely carry out economic activities on its territory, the presence of diverse forms of ownership and civil belonging of subjects, which determined the content and course of the formation of the industry.
