Effect of Community-Based Rehabilitation Approach on Socio-Economic Development of Persons with Disabilities: A Case of Community Inclusion Project by NUDOR

The general objective of this study was to examine the effect of the Community-Based Rehabilitation approach on the socio-economic development of persons with disabilities under community inclusion project-NUDOR. The study specifically assessed the effect of community involvement on the socio-economic development of persons with disabilities under community inclusion project-NUDOR, investigated the effect of government policy support on the socio-economic development of persons with disabilities under community inclusion project-NUDOR and evaluated the effect of partnerships and collaborations on the socio-economic development of persons with disabilities under community inclusion project-NUDOR. Data collection involved questionnaires, interviews, and documentary techniques using reports and records from NUDOR. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 25, analysing aspects like frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Pearson’s correlation was utilised to explore relationships between variables, and reliability and validity were assessed to ensure accurate measurements. The findings contributed to understanding how effective the Community-Based Rehabilitation approach enhanced the socio-economic development of persons with disabilities under community inclusion project-NUDOR. The findings showed that the model yields an R-squared value of 0.802, indicating that 80.2% of the variance in socio-economic development is explained by the three independent variables. This high explanatory power indicates that the model is strong and well-suited for predicting development outcomes. According to the findings, the study recommended that community leaders, policymakers, and partner organisations should promote inclusive participation, disability-sensitive outreach, and coordinated policy implementation to enhance the effectiveness of the community inclusion project-NUDOR.
