Research Note: Enhancing the Convergent POCS Method Through Intermediate Value Correction
ABSTRACT The convergent POCS (CP) method is a mathematically convergent approach for data reconstruction; however, its results are often contaminated by ringing noise. Through analysis, we identify the root cause as the multi‐solution nature of the CP method. To address this issue, we propose the CP+ method, which proactively adjusts the intermediate value in the outer loop of the CP process, guiding the projection trajectory toward an improved solution. This enhancement improves reconstruction quality while suppressing ringing noise. A 2D seismic data reconstruction example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the CP+ method.
