PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA DI KELAS III SD NEGERI 3 SUANGI

This research is motivated by the low science literacy ability of grade III students at SD Negeri 3 Suangi which is allegedly influenced by the use of conventional learning methods. One of the efforts that can be made to overcome this problem is to apply a cooperative learning model. This research aims to find out the stages of implementing the cooperative learning model and its influence on the science literacy skills of grade III students at SD Negeri 3 Suangi. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pseudo-experimental design (Nonequivalent Control Group Design). The research population was 24 grade III students of SD Negeri 3 Suangi who were all sampled through the total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using multiple-choice tests in the form of pretest and posttest as well as documentation. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Levene homogeneity test, and the Independent Samples t-Test. The results of the study showed an increase in students' science literacy skills, which was shown by an increase in the average score from 60.13 in the pretest to 79.09 in the posttest. The results of the Independent Samples t-Test obtained a significance value (Sig. (2-tailed)) of 0.001 or less than 0.05 (α < 0.05), so that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model has a significant effect on the science literacy ability of grade III students of SD Negeri 3 Suangi.
