Anatomy Museum: An educational resource for community anatomy education

University Community Outreach Programs play an important role in the education of Health Sciences students by providing experiences that extend beyond traditional classroom learning and strengthen the integration between teaching, research, and social engagement. The Anatomy Outreach Program "Anatomy Museum: a journey towards knowledge of the human body and awareness and preservation of animal life" is an educational initiative designed to promote scientific learning and socio-environmental awareness through the integration of human anatomy, public health, and wildlife conservation themes. The program is structured around guided visits, interactive exhibitions, and experiential educational activities using anatomical specimens. These activities provide opportunities for participants to engage with anatomical concepts while exploring broader discussions related to human health, preventive behaviors, and environmental preservation. Topics addressed during the program include human body systems, the systemic effects of tobacco and alcohol use, and environmental issues associated with wildlife conservation and human impacts on biodiversity. Through a multidisciplinary and dialogical approach, the program encourages reflection on the relationship between scientific knowledge, individual behavior, and social and environmental responsibility. Educational strategies emphasize accessibility and communication with diverse audiences, fostering engagement between academic knowledge and community experience. The Anatomy Outreach Program highlights the role of university-based outreach initiatives as educational spaces that integrate anatomical sciences with public health and environmental awareness, contributing to science communication, community engagement, and socially responsible education.
