Percepción De La Calidad Del Cuidado En Profesionales De Enfermería
Inequalities in nursing practice conditions complicate the interpretation of perceived care quality and its relationship with care delivery. This study aimed to analyze perceptions of care quality among hospital nursing professionals in Latin American settings. A qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive documentary synthesis was conducted using reflexive thematic analysis of scientific articles and institutional reports. Findings were organized into technical and clinical, interpersonal, and organizational domains. A Brazilian study involving 544 nursing professionals reported a mean score of 23.6, with a standard deviation of 4.5, indicating a nursing care product rated as good; in a Chilean study, 86% reported at least one missed care activity. Institutional differences and associations between workload, work environment, and missed care were also identified. The coexistence of favorable assessments and specific difficulties suggests that global indicators do not uniformly reflect all care components. Heterogeneity across sources prevented a pooled estimate or the identification of a shared temporal trajectory. Perceived care quality therefore requires a multidimensional, context-sensitive interpretation that distinguishes professional assessments, missed care, and organizational conditions to inform targeted institutional evaluations.
