The HBCCL panel provides a comprehensive resource of human B-cell cancer cell line data

Abstract A more comprehensive characterization of the biological and molecular mechanisms underlying cancer cell lines remains essential. Despite the rise of complex experimental systems, cell line models persist as indispensable tools for high-throughput screening due to their robust proliferation kinetics and technical reproducibility with minimal ethical considerations. In this study, we introduce a data-comprehensive human B-cell cancer cell line (HBCCL) panel comprising 17 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) cell lines and 18 multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines. Characteristics and disease-related molecular subtypes of the cell lines are presented as well as subclassification of DLBCL cell lines into LymphGen subtypes (BN2, MCD, N1, EZB, A53, and ST2). The panel includes integrated cell line datasets from drug dose–response screens (11 agents), genotyping, gene expression, miRNA, and proteomic profiling. The utility of this resource is illustrated with examples of analyses applicable to investigating molecular mechanisms and drug responses in B-cell malignancies.
