Research Progress on DC Cells in Myocardial Infarction
The occurrence and development of myocardial infarction (MI) are closely related to the immune inflammatory response. Dendritic cells (DCs), as professional antigen-presenting cells, take part in the pathological processes of atherosclerosis, ischemia-reperfusion and ventricular remodeling, but their role and regulatory mechanism at different stages of MI are not yet fully clear. By searching and summarizing the literature related to preclinical, clinical, comorbidity, mechanism and treatment studies, this paper reviews the role and research progress of DC in MI, and focuses on analyzing the characteristics of its subsets, its immune regulatory mechanism and its treatment strategies. Existing studies show that DC presents an obvious dependence on subsets, time phase and microenvironment, and has a bidirectional role of promoting inflammation and repairing tissue; and strategies such as tolerogenic DC, engineered DC and DC-derived exosomes provide new research directions for the immunotherapy of MI, but their clinical translation still needs further verification.
