VR Application Testing for Meta Quest: VRC Test Procedures and ADB Toolkit, v1.0

This document is a structured guide to VR application testing on Meta Quest headsets: Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro. It is organized around the 80 Virtual Reality Checks (VRCs) that Meta applies to applications submitted to the Meta Horizon Store. Each check lists its requirement level (Required or Recommended), a testing priority, a description, test steps and an expected result. The checks span packaging, performance, functionality, security, tracking, input, store assets, advertising, accessibility, streaming, privacy, content and publishing. To support efficient VR testing, the guide includes: an applicability triage that filters the checks for a given build a recommended test-pass workflow that groups checks into shared play sessions a device matrix with per-headset refresh rates results-record and issue-report templates Static package checks use Android Debug Bridge (ADB), aapt and aapt2, and apksigner. They inspect manifest values, SDK levels, permissions, hardware features, ABI support and the APK signing scheme. Runtime checks use the OVR Metrics Tool to measure frame rate, render scale and Application SpaceWarp behaviour. The guide also contains: supplementary diagnostics: thermal monitoring, thermal-throttling and low-battery simulation, and resource profiling a consolidated command reference VR testing terminology and official hardware naming a summary of submission requirements outside the numbered VRCs the walrusvr PowerShell toolkit, an open script that automates common checks, including permission and feature analysis Criteria reflect Meta’s published guidelines as of October 2026. The procedures assume a Windows test machine. This is an independent guide, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc.
