Strategies for Enhancing the Performance of 3D ‐Printed Flexible Sensors and Their Applications

ABSTRACT In recent years, 3D printing technology has emerged as a promising approach for the fabrication of flexible sensors, owing to its advantages of low cost, high design flexibility, and simplified construction processes. The rapid progress of flexible electronics, smart wearable technologies, and soft robotics has driven the demand for flexible sensors with enhanced sensitivity, improved stability, and higher levels of system integration. However, existing 3D‐printed flexible sensors still face certain challenges in terms of sensing performance, long‐term reliability, and versatility. Consequently, developing effective performance improvement strategies has become a key area of research in this field. This paper provides a review of recent research progress in 3D‐printed flexible sensors. The discussion focuses on performance enhancement strategies, including microstructure design, embedded integration, and emerging auxiliary enhancement strategies. In addition, this article provides a systematic summary of the specific applications of these sensors, including soft robotics, human health monitoring, and human motion detection. It also analyzes the challenges and trends facing current technology, providing valuable guidance for bridging the gap between research and practical application and helping to accelerate the design and manufacturing of high‐performance, intelligent flexible sensors.
