Tricuspid Valve Papillary Fibroelastoma in a 15-year-old Female: A Rare Case Report
Papillary fibroelastomas are considered to be the second most common benign cardiac tumors and the most common valvular tumors. In our case, the origin was from the tricuspid valve, though the vast majority arise on left-sided valves (aortic or mitral), with tricuspid valve involvement reported in fewer than 5% of cases. Papillary fibroelastomas originating on the tricuspid valve, and that too in pediatric patients, are exceedingly rare and present unique diagnostic and management challenges.
