Bellezza e musica nell'estetica analitica angloamericana: Peter Kivy, Nick Zangwill e Jerrold Levinson
In the aesthetic debate of Anglo-American analytic philosophy, music has gradually assumed a central position, appearing the most suitable art for acting as a test bench for the discussion of some fundamental problems. One of these is musical beauty, a subject that, in connection with two key issues of analytic aesthetics – the aesthetic properties and the aesthetic judgment – has aroused the interest and the comparison between three important philosophers – Peter Kivy, Nick Zagnwill, Jerrold Levinson – giving rise to a debate that, although restrained, appears important as the only attempt of discussion on musical beauty within the context of the rich revival of the concept of beauty that occurred since the 1970s.
