Thou Shalt
Thou shalt is a fictional feature-length screenplay centred around the story of Father Manuel, a priest dealing with his loss of faith and past trauma. The story expands into an omnibus structure, in which the protagonist revisits periods of his past in order to unearth the cause of his present grief. The script deals in the themes of suicide, religion, purpose and family relationships. The story uses Christianity as a central vessel for the protagonist’s inner conflict and relates his faith, or loss of it, to the personality flaws that have estranged him from his loved ones. What follows is an intimate portrait of a man rediscovering his spirituality and carving out a path towards forgiveness and acceptance of his current state.
