A catalogue of Sericini chafers of Indian subcontinent (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae)

Sericinae is one of the largest subfamilies of phytophagous Scarabaeidae. Based on so far published papers and monographs, we present here a catalogue of the subfamily Sericinae of Scarabaeidae from Indian subcontinent. It lists 721 valid species representing 26 genera of the tribe Sericini of Sericinae including species recorded from Andaman and Nicobar Islands and species incertae sedis. Our work resulted also in one new synonymy: Neoserica gravida Ahrens & Fabrizi, 2016 = Neoserica akurdi Kalawate, 2025, syn. nov. and one new combination: Maladera gracilipes (Moser, 1915) comb. nov. We summarized the taxonomic status of each available name and provided type locality, type deposition along with information on the distribution of each taxon. Additionally, the habitus and male genitalia of the holotype of Maladera gracilipes (Moser, 1915) are illustrated.

We summarized the taxonomic status of each available name and provided type locality, type deposition along with information on the distribution of each taxon.
