Formation of the Central State Archive of the National Economy of the USSR in the 1960s
The CSANE became the first scientific and methodological center in our country to study, among other issues, the acquisition, assessment, duplication, and absorption of the most widespread set of documents in the country's archival collection, the national economic collection. In its early years, the archive actively worked to create methodological manuals to support the reception and organization of documentary collections from ministries and departments. Furthermore, the selection of documents for state storage at the CSANE served not only the traditional archival purpose of ensuring the permanent preservation and use of documents related to the national economic complex. According to V.V. Tsaplin, the archive's role was to preserve and actively utilize documents to address key issues related to forecasting, planning, development, and improvement of production and technological processes, as well as addressing scientific problems in the country's economic sector. The study analyzes the archive's main activities during the specified period and identifies the most significant works and methods that influenced the development of archival science in the USSR.
