Monitoring of the Occupational Safety Culture of Oil and Gas Industry Employees as a Pedagogical Issue in Corporate Training
The article examines the issue of pedagogical monitoring of the occupational safety culture of oil and gas industry employees within the corporate training system. The central idea is to substantiate that assessing the effectiveness of corporate training cannot be limited to knowledge testing, since sustained safe behavior is determined by the employee’s value attitudes and internal motivation. The methodological framework of the study is based on a combination of andragogy, competency-based, transformative, and level-based approaches, each of which addresses a particular aspect of monitoring. The paper analyzes academic and industry studies that describe the structure of safety culture, the causes of the gap between employees’ knowledge and behavior, and existing diagnostic practices. Based on the analysis, the author substantiates the structure of monitoring consisting of four interrelated stages: the input diagnostic stage, as well as differentiating, supporting, and control-analytical stages. It is shown that monitoring acquires pedagogical meaning only if it is integrated into the educational cycle of the enterprise and its results determine the content of subsequent training modules. The article concludes that the proposed monitoring structure ensures a transition from merely identifying the current level of safety culture to targeted pedagogical influence on the employee’s motivational, value-based, and behavioral spheres.
