Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) serves as a strategic instrument for companies to support sustainable development through community empowerment, including the promotion of environmental education in schools. One of its implementations is reflected in the assistance provided to SD IT Muslimat 1 Tarakan City in achieving the AdiwiyataSchool status, an initiative led by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal Tarakan. This study aims to analyze the success of the CSR program in facilitating the transformation of the school into an environmentally oriented institution that achieved the National Adiwiyata School designation through strengthening institutional and human resource capacities, developing environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure, and expanding collaborative networks with relevant stakeholders. The program was implemented collaboratively with the support of the Tarakan City Environmental Agency, the Tarakan City Education Office, and the Gunung Lingkas Village Government. The program constitutes part of the Black Gold Project (From Black Waste to Gold Value), an integrated CSR initiative encompassing three community empowerment areas: Kampung Lestari, Silvofishery, and the Adiwiyata School Program. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including the school principal, teachers, students, the school committee, and other relevant stakeholders. Data collection was complemented by participant observation and document analysis. The data were analyzed through the stages of data collection, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the CSR program made a significant contribution to enhancing the school's capacity to establish sustainable environmental governance. This was achieved through the provision and improvement of environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure, the implementation of an integrated waste management system based on circular economy principles, water conservation initiatives, school greening activities, the establishment of student environmental ambassadors, and the integration of environmental education into the school curriculum and learning activities.
