Karakteristik Morfologi Kacang Phasey (Macroptilium Lathyroides) Pada Lokasi Yang Berbeda Di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

This study aims to analyze the morphological characteristics of the fassey bean (Macroptilium lathyroides) in three different locations in Muaro Jambi Regency, namely Mestong, Sungai Gelam, and Maro Sebo Districts. The study was conducted in April – November 2025 using a descriptive exploratory method on plants entering the final generative phase. The parameters observed included quantitative characters (plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, leaf stalk length, flower bunch length, number of pods per stalk, pod length, number of seeds per pod, and weight of 100 seeds) and qualitative characters (bark color, leaf type, leaf shape, leaf surface texture, leaf edge texture, leaf vein system, leaf color, flower type, flower color, pod color, and seed color) using the Munsell Plant Tissue Color Book. Quantitative data were analyzed by One-Way ANOVA and further DMRT tests at a 5% level. The results showed that stem diameter, leaf width, pod length, and seed number differed significantly between locations (P < 0.05), with Mestong District showing the highest values, which is estimated due to lower dust exposure so that photosynthesis takes place more optimally. The color of the upper and middle stems varies between locations influenced by light intensity, while the color of the lower stem, leaf structure, flower color, pod color, and seed color are uniform across all locations, reflecting the genetic stability of the species.
