The Implementation of the Habit of Reciting Asmaul Husna in Instilling Tauhid and Religious Values Among Students at SMP IT Nurul Fadhilah Bandar Setia
The habit of reciting Asmaul Husna is a common school-based religious habituation intended to instill tauhid and religious values, yet students’ participation varies and routine implementation does not automatically show that these values have been internalized. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the habit of reciting Asmaul Husna, the instillation of tauhid and religious values, and the supporting and inhibiting factors at SMP IT Nurul Fadhilah Bandar Setia. A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was used. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the habit has been implemented since 2017 and introduced to students since Grade VII. The activity is conducted from Monday to Thursday after the morning assembly under teacher guidance and involves all students. It helps students recognize and memorize the names of Allah and instills tauhid and religious values reflected in worship, prayer, respect, caring, responsibility, discipline, cleanliness, and self-control. Supporting factors include the school program, teacher involvement, parental support, the Asmaul Husna sheet, and regular repetition. Inhibiting factors include sleepiness, lack of focus, differences in memorization abilities, lack of coordination in reciting, and some students’ lack of active participation. In conclusion, the habit is well established and supports the instillation of tauhid and religious values, although students’ understanding of the meanings of Asmaul Husna still needs to be strengthened.
