Las variedades del español vistas por los sevillanos: estudio de creencias y actitudes
The aim of this research is to find out how Sevillians perceive the 8 cultured norms of Spanish. To do so, we used the PRECAVES XXI methodology, which we applied to 108 participants grouped according to the social variables of sex, age and educational level. Among the results, we highlight a higher degree of identification of the varieties which are geographically closer and of those which have salient differentiating features;a largely positive assessment of all of them, albeit with differences: for example, the Castilian stood out for a high score on the cognitive aspects and for its association with a better socio-cultural status, the Hispanic American and innovative received higher scores in the affective ítems, and the Andalusian was not, in general, among the best rated; and, finally, social factors did not condition most of the opinions expressed.
