Physical Educatıon Accordıng to Hilmi Ziya Ülken

Hilmi Ziya Ülken (1901-1974) is a Turkish intellectual who worked in the field of social sciences such as history of thought, morality, philosophy, sociology and had important works in Turkiye. He had pioneering studies in the process of modernization of Turkiye. According to Ülken, education should be one of the most important means for Turkiye to reach the level of modern nations during the Republican period. For this reason, he expressed his thoughts about education, and his thoughts are especially on the understanding of education related to his period in his works. The subjects he focused on in his works are generally values education, thought education, art education, physical education, and age in education.
