Traducción e interpretación en entornos paratextuales del ámbito de los videojuegos
The video game industry has been growing in an exponential and constant way for decades, and it became in one of the most economic-relevant industries in the whole world. The importance this industry has nowadays has lead to an expansion to other fields thanks to paratextual productions that are directly linked to the original games. That implies that the translators’ work is not done after localizing the game itself, as the localization tasks also expand into these peritextual products. In this study, we will analyze the importance of having professional translators and interpreters, who are properly prepared to work with this kind of products due to the high specialization of this industry and the heavy demands of the fans.
