PROFIL PASIEN PRIMARY ANGLE CLOSURE GLAUCOMA (PACG) DI POLIKLINIK MATA RSUP DR. M. DJAMIL PADANG TAHUN 2018-2022

PACG is an ophthalmic emergency caused by increased intraocular pressure due to the closure or obstruction of the anterior chamber angle in the absence of any underlying pathology. Objective: To determine the profile of PACG patients at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang from 2018 to 2022. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. Data collection employed total sampling, adhering to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study population consisted of 32 patients, based on medical records from 2018–2022. Results: The majority of PACG patients were aged ≥40 years (84%) and female (64%). with no significant difference between employed and unemployed patients; nearly all patients had no family history (92%); all patients had hyperopia (100%); 96% had Van Herick grade 1–2; the majority had an IOP >21 mmHg (72%); and 44% were unilaterally blind. Conclusion: Patients were women aged ≥40 years; there was no significant difference between employed and unemployed patients; and almost all patients had no family history. Hyperopia was present, and many patients had Van Herick grade 1–2, IOP >21 mmHg, and unilateral blindness.
