Advanced Materials Open Science Centre at the Carpathian National University (Ukraine): CNU-OpenLab

The PNU-OpenLab project has provided Ukrainian and European scientific communities with new opportunities for accessing research data, scientific infrastructure, digital services and Open Science expertise, particularly in advanced materials science and nanotechnology. The DataSet repository, based on InvenioRDM, enables researchers to publish, preserve, discover and reuse scientific datasets, publications, software and methodological materials in accordance with FAIR principles. CNU-NanoLab provides Ukrainian researchers with opportunities to use advanced materials synthesis and characterisation facilities. Its technical competence certification under ISO 10012:2005 strengthens confidence in laboratory measurement processes and supports scientific collaboration and analytical services. Seminars, training activities and methodological resources have helped researchers, doctoral students and academic staff develop practical skills in FAIR data management, research reproducibility, open repositories and responsible sharing of scientific results. The university's admission to the OpenAIRE consortium creates opportunities for Ukrainian researchers to engage more actively with European Open Science initiatives, benefit from shared expertise and services, and contribute to the development of interoperable research infrastructures within the European Research Area. The established infrastructure and accumulated expertise can support interdisciplinary projects, cooperation between academia and industry, and the development of FAIR-oriented research practices beyond the OSCARS funding period. This research was conducted within the PNU-OpenLab project “Advanced Materials Open Science Centre at the Precarpathian National University (Ukraine)”, funded through the First Open Call of OSCARS – Open Science Clusters’ Action for Research and Society. OSCARS has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 101129751.

Abstract
