Effect of Ozonation and Calcium Peroxide on Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Leachate
Abstract The paper experimentally investigates two methods for carrying out the oxidation stage of landfill leachate: ozonation and the addition of calcium peroxide (CaO2). Oxidation was performed for the purpose of destroying organometallic complexes for subsequent immobilization of heavy metals on anti-migration barriers. Ozonation of the leachate was carried out in two regimes, and the addition of calcium peroxide at a ratio of 1 : 20 to the leachate was studied. A comparative assessment of the results obtained using these methods was performed on the leachate from the Salaryevo industrial and municipal waste landfill.
