NGUOM — Next Generation Unified Operating Model
NGUOM (Next Generation Unified Operating Model) addresses a persistent problem in enterprise architecture: strategies that are well defined but not consistently executed, measured or sustained. NGUOM is an operating model that connects established architecture methods, EA execution platforms, well-architected frameworks and KPI management into one continuous lifecycle: Strategy → Optimization → Operational Excellence. It defines two perpendicular models: a Domain Model (what the enterprise is: capabilities, applications, data and infrastructure) and an Execution Model (how change is carried, tracked and sustained). It distinguishes the method gap from the execution gap. Its key elements are: an execution spine that carries traceability from intent to runtime; flexible entry, including a Minimum Viable Strategy route; a KPI spine with ownership at every layer; a governed control loop with explicit automation levels and human decision gates, in which KPI maturity determines how far AI can be applied. The document presents the reference model, its components and their interaction, an Enterprise Execution Alignment Tool, applicability, limitations and next steps. The aim is to make enterprise architecture a living execution system rather than a documentation discipline.
