Toll-like Receptor 9 in Patients with Laryngeal Cancer in Relation to Epstein–Barr Virus DNA
Recent evidence has consistently suggested that one barrier to improved prevention and control of laryngeal cancer is the unknown etiology of the disease. The aim of our study was to evaluate the percentage of lymphocytes (CD19+, CD4+CD3+, CD8+CD3+) with TLR9 expression, EBV DNA status and cytokine secretion in ODN-stimulated cells in EBV DNA-positive and EBV DNA-negative groups. The evidence indicated that the expression of TLR9 may determine the activation of lymphocytes in EBV DNA-positive patients with laryngeal cancer.
