One constant for every surface: an overdetermination test in a discrete model of spacetime (2+1 dimensions)

A confirmatory simulation study in a series testing a counting law for the boundary layer of spacelike surfaces in a discrete model of spacetime (a causal set: events sprinkled at random into a region and ordered only by which events can influence which). The study fixes one constant in advance - the value an earlier study in the series produced for the flat waist of a diamond-shaped region - and demands that the same constant read the boundary count as the continuum area of the surface it bounds: for round cuts through a diamond, for both faces of a flat slab, and for tilted sheets (whose counts stand on a completed study's record), with each surface's area also estimated by independent rulers that must agree with the constant and with each other. The study states in advance the outcome that would falsify the identification, and what each outcome would mean for the earlier studies that used it.
