GIANT LEAPS Policy Brief 6 Food and protein sustainability
This policy paper, initiated by the Horizon Europe GIANT LEAPS project (grant no. 101059632), aims to support a smooth transition to a more sustainable food system by providing recommendations to strengthen data access and transparency, harmonise sustainability assessment across Europe, support scale-up and market uptake, and integrate holistic sustainability in food security and protein autonomy strategies, address processing hotspots through eco-design and innovation, and embed climate risk screening into decisions on future production capacity.
