Perspectivas internacionais sobre gestão de documentos: revisitando e entrecruzando os modelos canadense e australiano
The article analyzes Integrated Archival Science, developed in Canada, and the Records Continuum, formulated in Australia, discussing their contributions to records management and to Brazilian Archival Science. The study is based on a literature review and documentary research, complemented by a questionnaire sent to the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and by the collection of information from Canadian and Australian archival institutions. The findings show that both perspectives advocate the involvement of archivists from the moment of records creation, although they differ in their theoretical foundations. While Integrated Archival Science remains grounded in the records life cycle concept, the Records Continuum adopts a continuous and multidimensional approach, particularly suited to digital records. It is concluded that these perspectives are complementary and can contribute to improving records management and the development of Brazilian Archival Science.
