The Role of Government Companies in Stimulating Startups and Entrepreneurship
This study explores the role of state-owned enterprises in supporting startups and stimulating entrepreneurship, a role that has gained increasing prominence as modern economies shift toward innovation and knowledge as primary drivers of growth. The research is based on the premise that government companies—equipped with substantial capital, operational expertise, immense purchasing power, and extensive infrastructure—can act as active partners in building an integrated entrepreneurial ecosystem. However, this requires designing their involvement with sound governance to avoid crowding out the private sector.
