AI-Powered Chatbot for Telangana ePASS Student Support

This paper presents the design of an AI-powered conversational chatbot intended to assist students using the Telangana ePASS scholarship portal. The proposed system uses a React-based frontend and FastAPI backend, with a curated FAQ knowledge base and optional language-model integration to answer common questions about scholarship procedures. The paper discusses the system architecture, workflow, data protection considerations, evaluation methodology, limitations, and future enhancements. The chatbot aims to improve access to general student-support information while directing account-specific and uncertain queries to official channels.
