Protocol for Cell Growth and Cytotoxicity of Polystyrene Nanoparticles in HEK 293 cells v1
This protocol evaluates the impact of neutral, positive and negative polystyrene nanoparticles (PS-NPs) on HEK 293 cell proliferation and metabolic viability. Cell growth is assessed over 72 hours by cell count viability assay, while cytotoxicity is measured after 30 minutes, 6 and 24 hours of treatment using the MTS assay. Results: Amine modified positive NPs, but not negative ones, caused a dose-dependent decrease in cell growth and viability in HEK 293 cells.
