THE IMPACT OF FINANCIAL STRUCTURE ON THE ASSET PROFITABILITY OF COMMERCIAL BANKS IN VIETNAM
Financial structure reflects the arrangement of capital sources to form assets and has a significant impact on the operational efficiency of businesses. For Vietnamese commercial banks, amid international economic integration, the requirement to comply with capital adequacy standards such as Basel II and to move towards Basel III makes managing and optimizing the financial structure increasingly urgent. Based on this reality, this study analyzes the impact of financial structure on the profitability of 19 listed joint- stock commercial banks on the HOSE and HNX exchanges during the period 2013-2023. The results show that bank size, growth rate, and working capital turnover have a positive impact on both ROA and ROE, while the fixed asset ratio and taxes have a negative impact on ROE.
