THE CONCEPT OF "GREEN-BLUE INFRASTRUCTURE" IN THE URBAN ZONING SYSTEM OF COASTAL AREAS
Annotation. This article analyzes complex methodological and design models for zoning coastal areas into urban areas based on the Green-Blue Infrastructure (GBI) concept in the context of arid historical cities (on the example of Samarkand). The study substantiates the ways to mitigate the "UHI" effect and protect water resources by introducing Nature-Based Solutions (NBS: rain gardens, biofiltration areas, permeable pavements), as well as integrating historical water arteries (Jar-ariq, Bogi-Shamol, Siyobcha, Obi-Rahmat) into a single water-green framework of the city. The author proposes an urban planning model for coastal areas consisting of 6 functional zones, measurable quantitative urban planning indicators, and a 5-stage model for the phased implementation of the concept into practice. Keywords: Green-blue infrastructure, urban planning zoning, coastal areas, nature-based solutions, water-green framework, heat island effect, environmental sustainability.
