Lepiota (sect. Paralilaceae) M. L. Han, L. A. Wang & Q. An 2026, comb. nov.

Lepiota sect. Paralilaceae (Bon) M. L. Han, L. A. Wang & Q. An comb. nov. Basionym. Lepiota subsect. Paralilaceae Bon, Doc. Mycol. 22 (no. 88): 30. 1993. Type species. Lepiota ochraceofulva P. D. Orton. Notes. The species L. ochraceofulva, L. bengalensis Hosen & T. H. Li, L. chiangraiensis Sysouph., Thongkl. & K. D. Hyde, and L. beninensis Sarawi & Manz, previously placed in subsect. Paralilaceae (Sarawi et al. 2025 a), were found to form a separate section in the current study. The name sect. Paralilaceae has therefore been adopted for this lineage, maintaining consistency with the original taxonomic concept. The species of sect. Paralilaceae generally have basidiomata with vivid orange-brown pilei and dextrinoid, ellipsoid basidiospores that are more than 5 um long (Sarawi et al. 2025 a).
