A Review on Fuel Delivery-on-Demand Application

Abstract - Fuel delivery-on-demand applications aim to connect customers who need fuel with authorised fuel suppliers through digital ordering, location information, and order-management workflows. Such systems may be useful when a vehicle runs out of fuel, when users are unfamiliar with a locality, or when organisations need planned refuelling support. This review examines selected literature on mobile fuel delivery, fuel-delivery application prototypes, and the regulatory context for door-to-door fuel delivery in India. The reviewed studies address application design, GPS-enabled location services, nearest-station discovery, customer convenience, operational logistics, and possible effects on vehicle travel and congestion. Across the literature, digital ordering can improve access to service information and coordinate customer, supplier, and administrator activities; however, software convenience alone does not guarantee safe or legally compliant fuel delivery. Licensing, approved equipment, permitted fuel types, quantity control, delivery records, payment security, and clear responsibility among stakeholders remain essential considerations. The review identifies a need for integrated studies that evaluate usability, delivery reliability, safety compliance, and operational performance together. It also outlines a conceptual workflow for a web-based application with user, fuel-station, and administrator modules. This paper is a literature review and conceptual analysis; it does not claim experimental validation or measured performance improvements for a deployed system. Key Words— On-demand fuel delivery, mobile application, GPS, fuel station discovery, order management, digital payment.
