Artificial Intelligence in Higher Mathematics Education: A Systematic Review and Evidence-Informed Framework for Productive Pedagogical Integration and Human–AI Interaction

This repository contains the supplementary data and materials supporting the systematic review entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Mathematics Education: A Systematic Review and Evidence-Informed Framework for Productive Pedagogical Integration and Human–AI Interaction” by Felix O. Egara and Alfred M. Msomi. The review synthesises empirical research published between January 2021 and September 2026 on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher mathematics education. Searches were conducted in Scopus and the Web of Science Core Collection, and 18 studies meeting the eligibility criteria were included in the review. The repository contains the original database search exports, the merged bibliographic dataset, the PRISMA 2020 reporting checklist, the full search strategies and eligibility criteria, the evidence-to-framework synthesis matrix, and the study characteristics and data-extraction matrix. These materials document the review’s information sources, study selection, data extraction, and evidence synthesis. They are intended to support transparency, methodological reporting, and further scholarly engagement with research on AI-supported mathematics learning in higher education.
