ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION: BENEFITS, CHALLENGES AND FUTURE SCOPE

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used in education to support learning, teaching, assessm ent, and academ ic adm inistration. Exam ples include adaptive learning system s, intelligent tutoring tools, autom ated feedback, learning analytics, and generative AI assistants. This paper review s selected published research and international guidance to exam ine the potential benefits, m ajor risks, and future directions of AI in education. The literature indicates that AI can support personalized learning, provide tim ely feedback, assist educators w ith planning, and im prove access to learning support. A t the sam e tim e, its use raises concerns about privacy, bias, accuracy, unequal access, academ ic integrity, and over-reliance on autom ated system s. This paper uses a narrative literature-review approach rather than reporting a new experim ent or student survey. It concludes that AI should support— not replace— educators and learners, and that responsible adoption requires transparency, data protection, teacher preparation, hum an oversight, and evaluation in real educational settings.
