Memberikan Motivasi Betapa Pentingnya Belajar bagi Anak-Anak di Desa Gading Jaya, Kecamatan Tabir Selatan, Kabupaten Merangin, Jambi

The reading activities of children in Gading Jaya Village are still far from optimal, reflecting a generally low level of interest in reading among students. Reading has not yet become a strong habit or culture, and children often lack encouragement to make it part of their daily routine. The awareness of teachers and parents to provide motivation for reading is also limited, with some even assuming that the responsibility to motivate children lies solely with teachers. In fact, the task of fostering reading motivation is a shared responsibility between teachers and parents, both of whom play crucial roles in shaping literacy habits from an early age. This paper deliberately highlights the types of motivation that are appropriate for children, the strategies and efforts of teachers and parents in encouraging reading, and the importance of selecting suitable and engaging reading materials. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for collaboration between schools and families to create a supportive literacy environment. With proper motivation, consistent guidance, and carefully chosen reading materials, children in Gading Jaya Village are expected to improve their reading skills, broaden their knowledge, and develop sustainable literacy habits that will benefit their future learning.
