The paper addresses how a combined heat and power enterprise can detect deteriorating financial performance before it appears in annual statements. Using 2015-2025 data of the Tashkent CHP branch, an early warning mechanism based on four threshold indicators is proposed, with weights derived from their correlation with return on sales rather than expert judgement.
