Development of an Adaptive Intelligent System Based on Artificial Intelligence for Supporting Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Relevance . Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) comprises a group of neurodevelopmental conditions requiring personalized approaches to developmental and educational support. Traditional approaches have limitations in terms of scalability and individualization. Objective . To analyze existing artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions for supporting children with ASD and to describe the concept of a text-based intelligent system capable of dynamic learning and individualized adaptation. Methodology . Current AI-based solutions for supporting children with ASD were reviewed, including cognitive support platforms, conversational chatbots, robotic systems, and generative AI applications. An adaptive system architecture with a gamified interface was developed. Results . A concept for a text-based AI system was proposed that generates an individual child profile and adapts the difficulty, format, and content of tasks in real time. The system incorporates the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and the Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based (DIR)/Floortime approach at the level of its decision-making logic. Conclusion . The development of a text-based adaptive AI system represents a promising direction that combines advances in artificial intelligence with approaches to developmental and educational support.
