Protocolo desenvolvido para tratamento de feridas utilizando LED

Chronic wounds represent a significant public health problem due to their high prevalence, prolonged healing time, healthcare costs, and the physical, functional, and psychosocial impacts they impose on patients. In this context, photobiomodulation with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) has emerged as a non-invasive, safe, and low-cost complementary therapy capable of stimulating mechanisms involved in tissue repair. The interaction of light with biological tissues promotes photochemical and cellular effects, including increased ATP production, modulation of the inflammatory response, stimulation of fibroblast proliferation, angiogenesis, and collagen synthesis. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of photobiomodulation on wound regeneration, as well as to validate a therapeutic protocol for the treatment of skin lesions using different LED wavelengths. The methodology consisted of the sequential application of violet (400 nm), green (530 nm), yellow (550 nm), blue (480 nm), and red (630 nm) light at an approximate distance of 5 cm from the skin surface, totaling 240 seconds of exposure per session and an energy dose of 9 J/cm². The results were evaluated through comparative photographic records obtained before and after the therapeutic intervention. The images demonstrated a reduction in lesion dimensions, indicating favorable progression of the healing process and a positive response to the applied protocol. We concluded that LED photobiomodulation showed promising results in regenerating the evaluated skin lesions, suggesting its effectiveness as a complementary therapeutic resource in wound healing. The standardization of evidence-based protocols may contribute to the safety, reproducibility, and broader use of this therapeutic modality in multidisciplinary clinical practice.
