Vulnerabilidade socioambiental urbana na Região Geográfica Imediata de Brejo Santo-CE
Studies on socio-environmental vulnerability have stood out in the context where the analysis of economic and social systems is increasingly rethought based on their environmental connections. This essay aims to identify the pattern of urban socio-environmental vulnerability in the Immediate Geographic Region of Brejo Santo – CE, based on the construction of an Urban Socio-Environmental Vulnerability Index (IVSA), composed of six dimensions: economic (VEC), educational (VED) , health policies (VPS), housing (VH), urban infrastructure (VIU) and pressure on the natural environment (VPN). As a result, the dimensions that record patterns of ‘high’ vulnerability correspond to economic, with an index of 0.626; educational, index of 0.562 and urban infrastructure (index of 0.525). Intermediate levels of vulnerability were observed in health policies (VPS) of 0.436, close to the upper limit of the index) and housing (IVH of 0.354). The best results are revealed by the dimension of pressure on the natural environment, showing low vulnerability and an index of 0.108. This set of results points to the average socio-environmental vulnerability (IVSA of 0.430) of the Immediate Geographic Region of Brejo Santo-CE, with a pattern of vulnerability higher than that of the Immediate Region of Juazeiro do Norte (0.433), Fortaleza (0.449) and the Ceará average (0.425).
