MORPHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS AND PHYTOSANITARY SIGNIFICANCE OF NEMATODES OF THE GENUS PRATYLENCHUS IN THE ROOT SYSTEM OF DOG ROSE (ROSA CANINA L.)

The diagnostic value of a combination of morphological and morphometric characteristics for identifying nematodes of the genus Pratylenchus associated with the root system of dog rose (Rosa canina L.) in Surkhandarya Region was examined. The main focus of the study was to analyze the characteristics of migratory endoparasites inhabiting root tissues, their likelihood of occurrence in rhizosphere samples, diagnostic limitations during specimen preparation, and criteria for distinguishing species. The importance of examining dog rose roots and the adjacent soil separately, as well as assessing the stylet, esophageal glands, lateral field, reproductive system, and tail structure collectively, was substantiated. The scientific distinction between recording the presence of a Pratylenchus specimen and drawing conclusions about the damage it causes to dog rose was explained.
