Herbs used to treat Anxiety and Depression Disorders : An insight Review

Negative emotions like sadness and worry have a multiplicity of negative effects on a person's physical and mental health. Millions of people all over the globe suffer from anxiety disorders, making it one of the most common forms of mental illness. While benzodiazepines and SSRIs are effective pharmaceutical therapies, they are not without side effects, including as dependency, sleepiness, and withdrawal symptoms. Consequently, herbal medicines are gaining popularity as a safer alternative to conventional anxiety treatments. Herbal remedies, which are less expensive and have fewer side effects, have lately gained a lot of interest as potential alternatives to conventional therapies for depression. There are many plants in traditional medical systems, such as Ayurveda and TCM, that have adaptogenic, mood-enhancing, and neuroprotective effects. A number of bioactive chemicals found in herbs have many effects, including balancing neurotransmitters, lowering oxidative stress, regulating stress hormones, and increasing brain plasticity. Some of these herbs include Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Gotu Kola, Turmeric, and Tulsi. An insightful evaluation of herbs for the treatment of anxiety and depression disorders is what we'll be looking at in this review.
