Acompanhamento clínico da dentição natal: desafios e condutas na odontopediatria. Estudo de caso clínico

Natal and neonatal teeth represent a rare condition characterized by tooth eruption at birth or during the first few days of life, potentially causing discomfort to the newborn and concern for parents. Although uncommon, this phenomenon requires clinical attention due to its potential implications for breastfeeding, the risk of aspiration, and the occurrence of oral lesions, such as Riga-Fede disease. Given this context, this study aims to analyze the implications of a lack of appropriate treatment for natal teeth, highlighting clinical challenges and recommended management strategies in pediatric dentistry. This is a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study, designed as a case report combined with a narrative review. The study seeks to gather and systematize available scientific evidence, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in pediatric dentistry and the definition of safer, more effective clinical protocols. Expected results include identifying key recommended management approaches, emphasizing conservative treatment whenever possible, and reinforcing the importance of professional monitoring to ensure the healthy development of both primary and permanent dentitions.
