Consequential Time: What Remains Effective Through Change

This theoretical paper examines consequential time: how consequences of earlier encounters remain effective through present states and accessible relationships under specified later operations. It introduces no additional time variable. Instead, it investigates what must be retained, accessible and renewed for acquired information to support continued protective action. A nonlinear control construction demonstrates protected information acquisition, retention through a reset of the observed system state, and subsequent renewal of a readable memory margin. Comparisons show how acquired history changes the protective actions that current observation can support. They also establish that identical present action sets can conceal different robustness under later operations. Conversely, an exact mathematical reduction removes a common memory-score offset while preserving the specified access, uncertainty and continuation relationships. Separate deductions from published peroxide-response equations examine retained biological consequences, matched present readouts with different local futures, continuing local protection, and initial improvement followed by a later boundary violation. A proposed fixed-weight quantitative mapping fails its stated correspondence test. The Unified Coherence Model motivates the connected interpretation and comparative questions; established information, control, representation and kinetic methods supply the mechanisms and proofs. The contribution is conditional mathematical content for consequence-bearing continuity. No new empirical dataset is presented, and a common physical law or validated unification across domains remains open.
