A Questionnaire Survey on Current Trends In Endodontics among Dental Practitioners In Chennai

Abstract Introduction The purpose of this article is to highlight the issues and facilitators that influence the adoption of new trends in endodontics, as well as the experiences that may exist within the local dental community. This is a trend that has been making progress in recent years. Aims and Objective of the Study This study aims to collect data on popular endodontic treatments among dentists in Chennai. This research is necessary because new technologies and advances occur over time, clinicians adapt to these new changes, and endodontic techniques change over time. Materials & Methodology A self-administered survey of 28 questions was distributed to them in a Google spreadsheet and their responses were recorded. Results The results show that the usage of rubber dam is (29.3%) among dental practitioners. Most of the dentists use Electronic Apex Locator with radiographic confirmation as the best option for working length determination. Pro Taper (43.2%) is the choice of Ni‑Ti rotary instrument used by the dentists of Chennai followed by Profile (31.2%) are mostly used to prepare canals followed by Hero 642 (24.4%). Cold Lateral Compaction (34.6%) is the commonly used obturation technique. The most commonly used sealer is ZOE sealer (43.5%). Conclusion Current knowledge of existing standards is a prerequisite for successful implementation. This study will increase knowledge and provide evidence that will help deepen the understanding of “current trends in endodontic treatment among dentists in Chennai.”
